Quality and the ability to wear our jewelry 24/7 is very important to us. With this in mind we're using a few different materials in our collection.
All of our gold items such as chains, bracelets, earrings, rings and some of our charms are made of goldfilled. Meaning that the items are composed of a solid layer of 14 karat gold, which must constitute at least 1/20th of the item's total weight, mechanically bonded to a base metal (generally brass). Because of this particular process, goldfilled items are long lasting and will not tarnish by normal use. This material is not to be confused with gold plated, as the quality of goldfilled lasts much longer.
Our gold charms are either goldfilled or vermeil.
Vermeil means that the item consists of a base of 925 sterling silver coated or plated with gold of at least 10 karat, and must have a thickness equivalent to at least 2.5 micron. Most of our items are 18 karat and have a plating of 3 micron. With the vermeil items the plating will slightly wear off after time but keeping it from getting in contact with skin, water, perfumes, etc will slow down this process. Because charms, as opposed to rings, necklaces and earrings, generally don’t make lot of skin contact, vermeil is perfectly suited as a material for them.
925 Sterling Silver
All our silver items are made from 925 sterling silver.
