Because silver necklaces, bracelets, rings and even earrings often contain small, hard-to-reach corners, cleaning with a silver polishing cloth is not always easy. Luckily, grandmother knows what to do! An easy and cheap way to clean your jewelry clean (and in an environmentally friendly way) is with some washing soda and aluminum foil.

DISCLAIMER: Only with silver charms, necklaces, bracelets or rings which do not contain any stones.

Step 1. Fold a tray of aluminum foil and place your sterling silver hanger/necklace/bracelet/ring on it.

Step 2. Sprinkle Soda over it (washing soda)

Step 3. Add boiling water until the pendant is under water. The soda and aluminum are now bubbling! Let this bubble for 5 to 10 minutes, until it barely fizzles.

Step 4. Then rinse your jewelry well, and dry it with a soft cloth.

Step 5. Yes! Clean and shiny silver jewelry.
